I received your book online about 2 months ago and it is great! When I went to the mailbox today Citibank sent me a settlement offer in the mail for 45%. I am not but 42 days late with them. I am doing just as you outline in the book. We haven't even talked about settlement on the phone they just sent it in the mail out of the clear blue with me being nowhere close to the 4 months sweet zone. I am going to wait until they start talking about it on the phone but trust me I am not waiting to long, but closer to the sweet zone. THANKS SO MUCH this is what I needed. I'll tell you about my sucess so far.

 

1) Avanta the amount was for 10408.00.  I settled for 4182.00.

 

2) Chase, I just settled for 35% on 8522.00. which is about 2982.00

 

3) I am now dealing with US Bank. I am 165 days now and both times now they tell me there is not a specific write off date. The amount is 12794.00 They have to be the toughest so far. They sent me a settlement offer letter in the mail saying I was eligible for a 40% discount is how they worded it. They want 60% and will not budge.  Even after I said I wanted to settle, they wanted to switch and bait and put the settlement towards a payment plan. I told them my family would only borrow me only on the condition that the  money was for a settlement. I offered them $3400. 

 

Interesting, hadn't heard this one before. They also told me that if I had settled with another credit card company for a certain percentage, that I could petition them to settle for the same percentage amount.

Your information has been the best value I have ever received on the internet!  I have successfully gotten control of the credit accounts, and have so far gotten bank of America to relieve 60 k of credit!  Wow!  I look forward to your do it yourself credit repair book.
